About the Group

The Inspector’s group is a forum for stormwater professionals to discuss Minimum Control Measures for Phase II MS4 permit holders.

Group members share experiences and ideas for conducting an effective illicit discharge detection and elimination program. The group serves as a sounding board for problem solving and learning about education and outreach across the state of Indiana.

The Inspector’s group is open to anyone. INAFSM members have access to guidance documents and sample forms used by members. Any level of MS4 experience is welcome, from beginners to advanced stormwater professionals. Meetings are held every other month in various locations around the state. Meetings are started indoors with a presentation and round discussion the topic, followed by visits to local sites. 

Vision Statement

We dedicate ourselves to the elimination of land development construction site and post construction pollution of Indiana waters through professionally administered SWPPP reviews and uniform inspection practices.

Mission Statement

To facilitate and improve Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) compliance.


  1. Evaluate progress yearly and update objectives
  2. Increase membership in the organization
  3. Offer membership to all MS4s
  4. Improve the professional development of organization members
  5. Develop better communication between regulators, inspectors and land management interests
  6. Develop consistent SWPPP operational procedures


Meetings are typically held every other month, and rotate to various areas of the state. Agendas include educational topics, round-table discussions, and local site visits.
