APA-Indiana Announces Updated Indiana Citizen Planner Guide + New Chapter 13 (Water Resources)

This online booklet is part of a series of publications of the Indiana Chapter of the American Planning Association to be used as training materials for citizen planners: plan commission members, board of zoning appeals members, neighborhood organizations, and citizen committees. These materials are intended to supplement publications such as Planning Made Easy and the Citizen’s Guide to Planning. These materials contain information specific to Indiana.

The new Chapter 13 (Water Resources) includes information on:

  • Drinking Water and Wastewater Tools for Planners

IDNR Emergency Rule

March 14, 2018 - IDNR is waiving their permit requirements for certain bridge, culvert and stream bank protection repairs necessitated by the recent flooding.  The permit exemption has some limitations and is only approved for use in the 31 counties where a Disaster Emergency has been declared.

We’ll accept brief articles (500 words or less) with supplemental photos/graphics as long as they are not solicitations for business.The only exception to this rule is for 2016 exhibitor sponsors whose sponsorship allows for such language in their articles.

INAFSM Becomes Charter Member of National Stormwater Group

 

In an effort to provide more benefits and national information to our members that are interested in MS4 and EPA stormwater issues, INAFSM has become a charter member of the National Municipal Stormwater Alliance (NMSA). This alliance is and will be made up of associations like ours so that we all have a common national voice. Click here for a summary of the alliance’s purpose, goals, and status.  NMSA will, of course, operate independently of INAFSM. INAFSM will have a place on their leadership, Steering Committee, and we are currently serving on their Executive Committee.
