2008 Floodplain Management Workshops

GENERAL INFORMATION

What an eventful year it has already proven to be in Indiana for several communities with floodplains. Major flooding, Presidential Disaster Declarations, and amendments to Indiana’s Flood Control Act with regards to reconstruction of residences in the floodway.

• Were you affected?  If so, were you prepared for all the things that needed to be done in a post-flood situation?
• If your community wasn't directly affected by flooding this year or in the past, do you know what you need to do?

Come and join us for our 2008 Floodplain Management Workshops, where we will:

• Investigate the different aspects of post-flood responsibilities
• Look at the recent change to Indiana’s Flood Control Act with regards to reconstruction of damaged residences in the floodway
• Floodplain Mapping & Modernization
• Hands-on Exercises
• Floodplain Jeopardy
